Another South African comic to join The Daily Show!

Comedy Central has announced  that Loyiso Madinga will be the correspondent of The Daily Show’s African segment.

The decision, made by Trevor Noah himself is a way to continue the globalization of The Daily Show and by “inserting local relevance to the global hit”.

“As wild as Donald Trump is for America, many countries around the world have Trumps of their own and since The Daily Show is in many countries, we thought ‘why not give each country a chance to show off their stable geniuses’?” said Trevor Noah.

Topical segments from South African comic Loyiso Madinga will be inserted into the show in Africa.

Loyiso Madinga will make his debut on Comedy Central (DSTV Channel 122) on Thursday, 11th Janauary at 9.30 pm.

Madinga is proud to be representing comedy in South Africa:

Born in the Easter Cape of South Africa, Loyiso became an Emmy finalist as a writer and performer on the two-time Emmy Award finalist satire show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola and the SAFTA nominated hit sketch comedy show, The Bantu Hour.

Loyiso has toured locally with Trevor Noah on the Nationwild Show and performed at international festivals including the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland, Busan Comedy Festival in South Korea and the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival.

Madinga’s Born Free-ish sold out the world-class Goliath Comedy Club.
